Nate Trail
===
Barry: [00:00:00] Welcome to the show. Nate trail. Nate is one of my new found brothers. He and I have gotten really tight in a very short time period, tighter than almost anybody I've ever met.
Nate owns to the T plumbing and heating in Denver, Colorado. And, you know, really has been integral in leveling up and I appreciate him welcome to the show. , Nate.
Nate: Well, awesome, Barry. I'm glad I'm here. And you're right in a unique way. We became really close. So it's a, it's a pleasure being here today, talking with you, seeing your face, hearing your voice.
So pleasure to be
Barry: here. I love it, man. Nate, tell us a little bit about, you know, what got you started in business and when was it? How long ago was it?
Nate: Yeah. So, you know, back to oh nine, the, the recession crisis that was hitting, our nation there. I was working for a large mechanical firm building high rises in the Denver metro area.
did a lot of work on army base down Colorado Springs. [00:01:00] but I would, everybody's getting laid off. I was like, I'm not the guy that gets laid off and collects unemployment. so to the T was, kind of born at that time. but my career kind of took off with them. They, I never got laid off. I was, I was the superintendent for them by the time I was 30, the youngest superintendent they've ever had.
and, so I was 30 at the time. And then it's, it's just started, just, I'm, I'm a, I'm a guy that pushes forward. You've seen it. I just always push forward. and I just, my career was getting to a ceiling, if you will. my wife one day comes up to me and she'd have seen, I mean, I was 30 and I looked like I was 50, you know, she's like the stress is the stress is there.
I love the stress. I thrive on stress. And she's like, well, what are you doing? Who are you doing it for? And I'm like, well, I'm doing it for this company, this guy. She's like, you got to the T in your back pocket. I know you, you just kind of set it aside. she goes, why don't you open to the T again? so the last [00:02:00] job I did for him was the Mara casino up.
That's our casino Hill here in the mountains here in Colorado. Huge project, huge project. but about 67 million worth of work that I was in charge of. But I was like, I'm going to finish it for you guys. but I'm doing my own thing after that. So too, so
Barry: March, so hold on, you had to the T before. And yeah, did you stop it completely?
Did you nurse it
Nate: along? What happened? No, no, I kind of just, I just let it just sit there. just because I mean, I was so focused on my career with them, that I'd never really focused on to the T.
Barry: What, what, what was it that made you focus on your career instead of to the T? I think,
Nate: you know, it's a blessing that I did because of the relationships that I got, from it.
which really slingshot and everything when to the T started March 1st, 2019. Okay. it really just, those relationships I built, [00:03:00] the vendor relationships. and the buildings that I built, I was able to go back in and start doing service work, so they already knew who I was and they knew I knew the building.
So really it catapulted, I think, to the T at that time. and so March 1st, 2019, we started it. It was just me and my wife and, Well, one man in a van, that's all it was
Barry: at the time. One man, I call it chugging a truck,
Nate: baby. Chugging a truck, right? that's, that's the one man in the van. And so when we, that first year was, it was tough, you know, learning what works, your SEO, your marketing, and you know, being in business as long as you have, it's everybody wants your money out there.
And then, you know, everybody over promises that other producers don't, right. So, it took us a while to figure out, we, we jumped a ton of money into what worked. but that second year we, we were rolling, 2020 hit, right. And then COVID hit, I'm like, well, what a time to start a business here. but 2020 ended up being our best year we had.[00:04:00]
I mean, it was. Everybody's stuck at home. Now they're realizing, Oh, my air conditioner don't work. I hear this, but this is leaking. And it, it really, really blew us up. And, I gained this, I have a saying that I say every year when we meet with our team, we meet with our office admin is I every year I'm doubling my double.
So whatever I made last year, I'm going to double that this year. Right. And that's my vans. That's my mentality. So every year we have successfully doubled our double. so good to where we're, we're now we're now in a brick and mortar COVID kind of slowed that all down because nobody could be in the office.
so we, we're growing,
Barry: you focus mostly on, commercial residential, both, both,
Nate: service, service of the commercial and service of residential. I got, instead of like new construction, yeah, it's, it was, it's something that's right there. and it's really thrived for us. we were able to lock down our marketing team, but, we, we have an intricate hiring [00:05:00] process.
Barry: so where you have an internal marketing team,
Nate: no, so we, we, we haven't outsourced right now, but they, they do a great job for us. but, this, this, this year now, the double my double, Colorado, Colorado is not enough, man.
Barry: So tell me about it. What, what, what do you, what do you got
Nate: going on? So we talked about leveling up, right?
Yeah. And when I say Colorado is not enough, my to the T brand, I just love it. And you've seen it. Yeah, I want that over the United States. So, just, just as of Monday, we now signed an agreement. We're going to franchise across the United States. Boom. I got cold chills now. Yeah. Oh, me too. Me too. How did you,
Barry: how did you get there?
Nate: You know, it took a lot of, it took a lot of getting thumped on the nose, right. just to figure out what, what works, but our plan, our model, it works. there's, and it, you know, as employees are [00:06:00] with you, you want to see them grow too, right? Cause if they ain't growing, you're not growing. And you get a ceiling when you, as an employee, you get to that ceiling.
That's what I experienced when I was with that mechanical firm. There's that ceiling. And instead of, instead of being like, you know, this is it for you, man, this is for the rest of your life. We were like, we got to offer something more, you know, I can never hold a grown man back for wanting to be a better man.
Right. so that franchise opportunity is going to be there for them if, when, and if they're ready and then we'll coach them along the whole way through. but it gives a, it gives a platform for those ones that are kind of maybe not all the way wanting to do it, but they think about doing it, but they don't know how, right?
You know? And so I know how I have a model, I have a platform, I will get you through it. and, and then in turn they get my brand and then we can grow that way. and kind of have a different, a different business market separate than [00:07:00] this, just the two of the team, you know, Denver, Colorado. we can have, we're, we're, we plan ahead in Dallas, Austin, Houston, Nashville, Atlanta, Phoenix.
I mean, we're, we're going to hit them all. so it's, exciting news. I haven't told anybody. So bear, this is breaking news on your show right now. so it's, it's been really, really tight, close to the chest with. My wife, myself, and our franchise manager. So now that it's, it's official, it's on paper, it's signatures assigned.
Barry: I'm so excited for you, man. I knew you were excited about going to Atlanta and I hired you a couple of times. I'm like, Nate loves Atlanta. And like, I now know, and I'm like, yeah, that's so man, that's so good. I'm so proud of you and happy for you and all the things, man. Cause I'm, I know that under your leadership, it's going to be a, next level, and, and, and right now, I mean, you're leveling me up because I'm like, where am I thinking small.
[00:08:00] Because, you know, this guy's expanding my mind, you know, listen to Dan Sullivan. He talks about the brain and the mind, he goes, you know, the brain can only grow so much, but the mind can be. 100 X, because if, if, if I can take your knowledge and access it, then that's the mind, right? And so I get to experience that with you and then, you know, I'm lucky enough to be tight with you now and, man, that's exciting.
I love it. So where, where, where have your biggest struggles come
from?
Nate: I think it's in our home service industry, biggest struggles. Out the gate was probably marketing, right? Like how, how do I get my, how do I get my name out there? How do I get my brand out there? How do I, how do I show that we're to the T you know, there's a way of life up to the T that's our, that's our core values, you know, so it's, it's.
That and then finding, finding qualified people, that's been a struggle, [00:09:00] right? That's the hardest one. Yeah. Yeah. Keeping, keeping, keeping them too. When they, when you, when you got the guy, you got the people, you got the right people in place. How do you keep them? How do you keep them? That, that's one, that was one of them.
One of the paths for the franchise.
Barry: so are you talking about mainly technicians? Cause that's, you know, we all, we have an automotive, a family automotive repair business and technicians are finding and keeping and training qualified technician is very hard. It's a long tail most of the time. what have you done to be able to cultivate that kind of, culture that can find, keep and grow great technicians?
Nate: You know, one, so my mentor kind of, when I started into this actually was the owner of the old company. I mean, he was a hundred percent on my side when I went this way. So good. one of the, one of the things is, is training. You said it just a minute ago. you got to invest in your team. We did a rate, we did a radio show here in Denver when I was still there.[00:10:00]
One of the questions came up, they're like, Oh, you're about apprenticeship programs, further training, further education. That costs money. That costs a lot of money. and yeah, by investing in them, they said, well, what if you train them and they leave and it, this, this stuck with me. He said, he goes, well, what if I don't, what if I don't train them and they stay?
Barry: That's right. I think that's how
Nate: Henry Ford quote. Is it? Okay. Yeah. It was just something that's really stuck close to me. so we're always training. and we cross train. We do plumbing, heating, air. so I'm able to take our plumbers that come in and they've been doing it 10, 15 years. And, but you can kind of see it in their demeanor.
It's like, Oh, it's just plumbing. It's another toilet, another water heater. to really be like, Hey, what do you, how do you feel about doing HVAC? Yeah. And it's like, they light up, you know,
Barry: so that's what, like, when I saw what you did, I'm like, well, he does plumbing and heating. Those normally don't go [00:11:00] together.
Right. They,
Nate: in a mechanical focus state, they're together. but they're, they're definitely two different trainings. Right. so that's, that's why you kind of see those plumbers light up all of a sudden. Like, you mean, I'm going to start working on air conditioners, furnaces. Now it's a different mindset, a different engages a brain in a different way.
kind of like you were saying that mind process, it's just expanding the mind instead of making the brain grow. We're just expanding their horizons of their minds. So it's been, it's been, it's been great to do that. Seeing a lot of young guys as well come in and they kind of pivot and this and that.
But, it's been good for us because when one, one is coming up. Like an HVAC at summertime, we're blowing up and plumbing's kind of still skating here. And the summer goes away, plumbing starts kicking up. So it's been nice to keep talent on board. You know, and it's not seasonal for me, you know, so it's been nice to, so
Barry: you've, you've been able to, to, to, man, that's [00:12:00] good.
I love that. Yeah. What if I train them and leave? What if you train them? They don't, if you. What if you don't and they stay? That's W. Edwards Deming. Is what that's contributed to, yeah. And then there's another one by Sir Richard Branson. Is train people well enough so they can leave. Treat them well enough so that they don't want to.
Nate: Right. That's that's good. Right.
Barry: Yeah. Culture piece, man. Peter F. Drucker says that culture eats strategy for breakfast. Yeah. I'm I'm a quote a minute, man, and I'm very proud myself on knowing who did it, which is ironic because I misquoted a while ago for You know, my go to is, is, you know, Henry Ford, cause he said a lot of smart things.
I'm like, Oh, that's Henry Ford.
That's so good. So that culture piece, I mean, how did you grow that? what, how do you get there?
Nate: I think a business, a lot of people forget. There's one aspect that a lot of people don't [00:13:00] do at work, and work's not supposed to be fun. That's everybody's. Okay. It's not supposed to be fun. but we have a lot of fun.
Good. Have a lot of fun. We embrace the suck, but we have a lot of fun. Yeah. So, and that's, that's something that we kind of instill in our team. to where in my youngest apprentice. is now turning out to be a journeyman plumber and now we're training on HVAC. And we did this review and he's, he's like, man, I, I came up, I came up in the trades, but I hated going to work.
It was just a paycheck just to pay my bills. and it, it even so much so that they, they get that younger generation doesn't want to necessarily work, you know, how to say it in a nice way. Yeah. they, they, they just get. Got out of rut real early. but he looked me straight in the eyes and he's like, Nate, I love coming here.
I love coming to work every day and he doesn't miss any work. And that's amazing. He's what? 22 years old. Yeah. you [00:14:00] know, and we've got, our team is really young, so much so that our customers are like, does he, are you sure he knows what he's doing? He just looks young. so, but it's, it's. It's fun to see them having fun and them learning and they show up every day.
We just got a really reliable team that's young and they're just ready to go.
Barry: So obviously you're a guy who levels people up and you level up. That's how you can level people up. If you had to make your choice, culture, the way you show up, how much fun they have to work or the most knowledgeable expert team that you can have.
Which choice are you making and why?
Nate: That's a tough question. That's why I ask them. Yeah, right. I think I'm going to lean toward, I'm going to lean towards the culture. the fun. Yeah. Because I can, I can train them to be the other side. You know, [00:15:00] and yeah, and put them and put them to where we have the best of both.
So it's just, you got to train them. You got to get them there to be that knowledgeable, and, and everything there. So I think if you lean to one side too much, you're, you're gonna, you're going to miss the mark. Right. Yeah. You gotta, you gotta, gotta, gotta mold them into both. But I'm going to lean, I'm going to lean a little bit more to the culture fund.
cause I can train them into being the knowledgeable and the most
Barry: precise. So, and this is why I know that your franchise is going to take over the world. Yeah. Cause
Nate: you're going to see our bands everywhere. You're going to see our bands everywhere. I can't wait,
Barry: man. And I'm gonna be like, you know, I know that guy.
That's what I'm going to be saying. You
Nate: know, I know that guy, you know, and I made the most obnoxious fans out there. So good. It's you can't miss us. I always want
Barry: to be the guy that knows the guy because if you're the guy, people try to take your time. I just want to be the guy who [00:16:00] knows the guy. I call it getting rich off the crumbs of other people's table.
Nate: It works. So, right. That association that works
Barry: that way. I love it. Well, let's, let's talk about. an experience we shared and we're not going to talk too much about it. Cause you know, it's not ours to give away, but I think what we can talk about is, is what it's done for us, why it's done for us. We just got back from rise up Kings.
It's where me and Nate really got close. And I'll tell you the closeness and the things that he and I did specifically together, I've only. Done those things with maybe 10 people in my life and the other nine or maybe eight of the other 10 or the, the other eight, it was not by choice.
Nate: Yeah. So there you go.
Barry: Great. How, how, you know, what did that experience do for you and, and how are you showing up now? And [00:17:00] everything's on the table, business or personal, whatever you want to share. how's that showing up now in your life?
Nate: You know, when you, it's metaphors are everything and what we did. Yeah, I love it. And, and that, it really showed, you know, how we approach that situation.
we talked, kind of talked about earlier, the, the nervousness of the unexpected. Right. you know, it's coming to put it lightly. it's sometimes it hurts, it hurts, it hurts, but it hurts in a good way. Right. When it's all said and done, you go head on into it. And, and you, you, you embrace it and, and you take what was coming.
it's gonna draw you close to, to a lot of people. It's gonna draw you close. It's gonna, it's gonna bring out you. I said that too. I, wow. I, I, I know I learned more about me. Yeah. Just in that little bit of time and I live with me, you know? [00:18:00] Yeah. That's stuff I said it to you earlier. I, I live with me. I have to live in the ahead of me.
yeah. But it, it, it really shows. What you're willing to do, especially when you know it's coming, but you're willing to do, no matter how nervous you get,and sometimes you fall and sometimes you just got to get back up every time, you know, and it's going to hurt sometimes that I don't want to give it away too much, right?
You know, I,
Barry: I bet with, I was telling you about what I met with, the guy, a guy I'm mentoring, he's 28 years old, entrepreneur, man of faith. That's you and I are professed. We were men of faith. and, I was talking to him about half stepping, you know, I was like, I show up and half step in a lot of places in my life.
And, and I told him, I said, I have been a victim and if you'd have told me. Before I went to rise up Kings that I, that I was a victim, I'd have laughed at you. And he said, yeah, brother, I've known you, you, you mentor me. [00:19:00] And he goes, there'd be about, there'd be a long list of words that I would use for you before I ever got to victim.
Nate: I'm
Barry: like, yeah, because, and you just said it. Well, I met the real me and where in my life that I'm feeling anger, that I'm blaming another human being, which is being a victim. It's hard for people to swallow and it's not for me anymore. And that's what's changed in me the most. And so you, you were a part of helping me understand a big part of me up and understand through that three day experience.
And, and I do, I appreciate for
Nate: that. Right. I mean, it talk about that victim thing that that lists the words that we went over and I was like, check, check, mark me check, check, check. And you'll realize, okay, we're falling into the wrong column here. Yeah. and then, and then it came to that responsibility.
And when that, that word was said, and then it [00:20:00] listed all the words of being responsible. They're like flipped in my head flip. I mean, it was, but it, it, it was a, how I was able to get through a lot of things. And I felt like it was, we were there for three hours talking about one thing. It was probably 30 seconds.
Right. But it was It was that quick. I was like, fine. I found areas of my life that, okay, I got, I got to take responsibility for this. I got to take responsibility for this. but how's it changed my thought process that I show up with my family and my wife in a different demeanor. Right. Cause I play that victim side.
but now it's like, you know what, I gotta take that responsibility. I gotta be softer. I got three girls, you know, I, I got the, the, the man mentality at the time, but it's a made me approach my, my daughters differently, made me approach my wife differently. it's made me even approach prayer differently.
This is as wild as it sounds. I love that.[00:21:00] yeah. Good. So it's, and it's, It's life changing. Yeah. Every, everything we did there, the relationships that we built, the how close our group is, I think we text each other more than I've ever texted my wife. Oh yeah. Yeah. Right. I need to really, really focus on my wife here.
I need to. Yeah, step it up on that. You know, look, I'll
Barry: get real vulnerable, man. The day after I came back, and I do a meeting with myself on the back porch. We call it a clarity break and I'm in my phone and you know, I, I was diagnosed A D H D, which I think is a, the, the, the biggest part of that is the disorder part. Mm-hmm. Like, it's not a disorder, man. It's my superpower. Yeah.
Nate: It's
Barry: a fast, I don't wanna think like everybody else. Mm-hmm.
I don't wanna be normal, but disorder. It's not a disorder. It's a, it's a, it's a, it's, it's a superpower. It's a driving. But I was out there and man, I was, In [00:22:00] planning mode, she comes out on the back porch. It's not a huge back porch, sits down in the chair and just sits there. And I didn't even notice because I was in texting.
I was in my calendar. I was in planning mode and I'm like, am I that unaware when I'm focused on something, which is people that, man, that's, that's pretty good. I'd love to have that. And I'm like. No, I I'm so engulfed and I can't imagine what this social media does.
And I'm like, I gotta make sure that I know what's going on around me, man. Mm-hmm. . And so that's just open, honest dude. And that's what's changed in me is that 'cause it, before I would've gotten defensive about that and been like, I'd said, you know, that's, that, that, that's why I do what do a good job, Nate is I'm that focused, which is ego.
Which is really insecurity. And I'm like, man, what a [00:23:00] dangerous road that is to brag about your insecurity.
Nate: Yeah. Yeah. On a vulnerable spot too. It's, it's one of those, some, some that we, we learned and we, I think we're doing, we're doing so much better at is that just showing up. Absolutely. This just showing up, showing up for the right things.
For the right people, for the, for the right, in the right way. you know, that's one of my affirmations showing up. So you better show up for your kids, show up for your wife, show up for work, show up for God. And I know you better show up. So that's, that's a responsibility part. You got to show up. Yeah,
Barry: I love it, man.
I love it. And we're, we'll put rise up Kings in the show notes. So if you want to click on that, go to it. And for me, I'll tell you, me and Nate get no monetary gain for you guys. And we don't want it. We just want what's best for you. And we'll put rise up Kings in there. And, and, and, [00:24:00] but I'll, I'll, I'll say it for Nate, because either one of us would be happy to talk to you about it.
Not tell you too much about it, but encourage you to go. So if you want to get in touch with us, just email me, you'd be better off talking to Nate. Anyway, he's better out, better looking than I am and all, and all the things. So he has more gray hair though. I
Nate: like that. I do. It's the Bible says it's a crown of beauty, right?
That's all
Barry: I'm waiting on my wife will tell me.
I'm waiting on it. I'm waiting on it. I need to, it'll, it'll seem wise, maybe on these days. So what's next? What, what, what, what do you, I know you've got the franchises, congratulations. So, you know, what's, what, what do you think your next steps look like in your life? What do you have to, here's a good one.
What are you going to get to give up now that you're currently doing that you have to give up or need to give up to get to the next level?
Nate: I think I, I think giving, giving ups is a strong [00:25:00] word because I think I'm not, I'm not really giving up. I think I'm just going to morph it. And I think what that, what that looks like is going to be more of a, instead of building my company, I'm going to be coaching, coaching others to build their company, build a life, that they've wanted, right.
Or they've been scared to, they haven't necessarily, pulled the trigger on just being like jumping. First in everything I do, and you know this, I go face first into everything I do.
Barry: from experience. I know that.
Nate: Yeah. I'm all, I'm all in. so , I, I think that coaching to building those up underneath me, I think that coach is now I'm gonna start helping them build them up.
So, and that, I think that's what I'm most excited about is watching coaching and watching others grow. I think that's what I'm excited
Barry: about the most. Do you, what's your plan? Do you have a plan how to become a world class coach?
Nate: I [00:26:00] don't, but I know somebody can help me. I can help you, man.
Barry: Cause how do you become a world class coach?
You start out as a, as a, as a not world class coach, it's just the same things, right? You take your lumps, but there are some people that help me, you know, avoid the potholes, maybe smooth some, some, some lumps in the road that, that, that, that I missed because I didn't have to worry about that. man, I'm happy to help you.
With what I know to be a coach and it's a different, it's a different skill set. and, and we'll level, level up to that. And so I've got a lot of, a lot of resources. I've got a lot of connections that I can get you in touch with that are smarter than me. If you go back and listen to Dan Gilley's podcast, he is my original mentor that is literally.
He is the reason I am where I am today. And he expanded my mind. He did it other day and, and I have this love hate relationship with him. 'cause I'm, I'm real cool when it comes to 10 year [00:27:00] planning. I got it Uhhuh and he, I was, I, I I, I, this is before we went, I was, I was gonna invest in a company because I have a skillset that they don't have and, and vice versa.
And we used to be, In that together and, and I was considering buying into it again, because they reached out for my help and I was like, okay, well, and Dan goes, he asked me a question and he said, he asked, why are you doing this? What is your motive? And I said, well, to help this person, he goes, that's the wrong one.
He goes, can you not help them without buying it? I was like, yeah, do you want to like? Absolutely. And, he's like, okay. And so he walked me through that and I've already helped the person. They're already, it took me a week and a half. He's like, that's going to be expensive for [00:28:00] you and expensive for them.
If you do it the way you're thinking. Yeah. I'm like, okay. And then he said, Because he knows I do 10 year thinking. He's like, well, give me your 20 year plan. Give me a 20 year you and you and Nancy. So I doubled my 10. I thought I could get away with it.
Nate: He goes,
Barry: you know, he's known me for 10 years and he's, I worked for him and he mentored me and he still does.
And he said, you know, I think you're thinking way too small. And I'm like, Oh, I hate that. But I love it. So now he gave me some homework, get away with Nance, sit down, weekend and do this 20 year thinking level up brother. Yeah. Happy to introduce you to him too. Okay. Yeah, that's the smartest guys that I know
Nate: he's only sitting here thinking about tenure right now and I'm like, I'm thinking too small, too [00:29:00] small.
Barry: Yeah, I can help you with 10. He can help you with 20. Okay. Okay. cause he's helping me, right? I, I don't do theory. Cause if I haven't done it, I'm not going to tell you anything about it. I'm going to introduce you to somebody that I know
Nate: has done it. The guy, right. You just told me, you know, the guy.
Barry: And man, I know the guy that knows I'm a guy that knows the guy that's good.
But yeah, man, you know, I'll open up my old school Rolodex. Let you introduce you to some people if you want it. So it's good. I love it, brother. That's, that's how we lewd life together. Give, give the, give the listeners one more piece of advice that you're like, man, if you, if I'd have known this, this is what I would have known.
Nate: there's a, there's a couple of things. There's a couple of, I'm going to pull a little bit of my, my, my rise up and then I'm going to pull a little bit of it. Me in there to do it. you know, as in life, we talked about how much, how are you missing that mark by three inches, right? [00:30:00] That, that, that mark.
And then, then it's like, it's only three inches, you know, that's it. It's only three inches and we just kind of blow it off. But man, it's, if you, how much are you missing that mark in life? And what are you going to do to close up that three inches, right? So good. Really, really focus on where you're missing at, Mark.
the other part, I want to say, if you're standing on one side of a line, You're never going to know what's on the other side of the line until you go. So you can, you just got to take, you just got to take that step. we, I've never lived my life out of fear. and, and I never, let me put it this way. I never lived my life living out of fear until I realized that I'm missing that three inch mark.
That's a tough one, isn't it? Yeah. That three inch mark is like, well, is that fear or is that something I'm missing there? Is that something holding me back? Close up that gap and you just step over that line and you'll, you'll find things about yourself, good, bad, or indifferent, but you're going to find [00:31:00] something about yourself that's going to make you a better person.
So just stepping over that line, get uncomfortable, get uncomfortable, get nervous. cause when people get comfortable, they don't level up. That
Barry: got me. Yeah, that got me brother. if you know anything about me, you know, that my wife runs our company and she runs a, she makes sure every, all, all the, the T's across the eyes are dotted, like in, in our family, she just got that unique ability and she loves to do it, but he said something that just, and we're talking about Jeremy McWilliams, right?
He, he said,I thought, I thought Nancy had wrote, had written him a letter of what to say.
Nate: I think we all felt that
Barry: way. And he said, you just, you, you, you think you handle all this and you, you, you go out, you kill something, you drag it home and, and then you, you got this and then you just dump everything else on your, on her, on your wife.
[00:32:00] And I'm like, yeah, like hit me here. And then he said, and you think you buying her a vacation home, everything's going to be cool. And we literally were in the middle, we just closed on it Friday in the middle of buying a lake home and just tears is all I had. Cause I'm like, I do that. And then I came home and mucked it up because I scheduled something.
Cause I'm like, I'm gonna take some stuff off her plate. And she's like, that's not what I want taken off my plate. And I'm like, Oh, there I go. Assuming again that I know she's like, it's these things. And I'm like, Oh, is that good?
Nate: So good. Thank you for that. I think we were all, we were all that way. And you know, Jeremy too, is like, she'll take that sandbag.
She'll hold it. And that doubt, I thought my wife wrote Jeremy too. I didn't go, I, I don't know if we were all having that [00:33:00] moment. I was like, no way he read anything that, you know, they got set, but it was, it was, that's what I meant. Like, I thought I was going there for one thing and I ended up being there for another.
Barry: 10 years from now, they're going to be like, yeah, she really did write
Nate: us a letter.
Barry: It's a unique man problem, right? I mean, and that's okay. So good. Yeah. Is there, is there something else
Nate: you wanted to share? just, you know, I mean, it sounds like it's for you. I know it is for me. It's like my wife's my biggest fan. Yeah. My biggest supporter. And if that sandbag needs to be, she'll, she'll take it.
and I, I was thinking of how selfish of me is that, because I'm, I'm, I'm thinking this is all this over here. Really like your wife said, no, it's right here. This is where that's at. what a blessing it is, you know, that we were, we were given these women to such really strong women. You really. You really, you know, I can't go back to the crying thing.
And I, how many times did I say it in that group? I'm not a crying man. I'm not a crying man. Right. And [00:34:00] I got back home and my wife and my kids said, no, you always are a crying baby, you can watch dances with wolves and you're crying. Yeah. You can watch a commercial and you're crying. and I, I just take a step back.
I was like, I probably really do cry a lot. Oh,
Barry: I know I do. You know, I'm well enough
Nate: all the time, you know, it's good. Yeah, it is. It's a, it's a blessing to have a partner, a team member that's 100 percent on your side, the biggest cheerleader. And it's like, well, I need to be her cheerleader too. yeah, that's where I'm missing it.
She's doing all this time to support me and cheerleading me. Yeah. I need to be back there in the pom poms. That's good. Let's go, Megan. You know, that's, that, that's my wife's name. so it's just, I got it. I realized that she's, she's right here with me. She hadn't left. She's never. Once left my side, no matter how bad it gets or how bad she is, she's just always there.
That's love, man. That's it. It's amazing. Love. Yeah. That's good. Takes a little, takes a [00:35:00] little thump on the nose to realize it.
Barry: All right, brother, man, I have absolutely enjoyed having you. I know our listeners are going to get. Massive amounts of value. Thank you for being here.
Nate: Yeah. Yeah. It's been a pleasure, Barry.
And I, I mean, I I'll call you brother the rest of my life. and, and that's, that's, that's a one thing that rise up did. It brings a lot of, a lot of people close. it's a blessing to have you close. it's a blessing to get a text from you guys and just, just make an, it's like another cheerleader to just add it to the, to the whole thing.
So, it's a blessing. I appreciate you having me on the show. You know, there might be a listener out there that wants one of my franchises. So we'll all be out there. So it's, it's coming.
Barry: We're going to, we're going to put his website in the show notes and then I probably have a separate website for your franchise
Nate: or no, we're going to have it give me, give me about two weeks and we're going to start having stuff on our website there.
it's more for the SEO marketing thing, but yeah, it'll all be there for everybody.
Barry: But [00:36:00] by the time this show comes out, it will, it will be on his website. There we go.
Nate: Thanks brother. Hey, thank you. Love you, Barry. Thanks for having me.
